Is BlackBerry Messenger Dead in the Water?
One of the few things that makes the humble BlackBerry attractive is the Messenger service, which has been embraced by teenagers and the corporate world alike. But as people migrate from RIM's handset to other smartphones, BBM contact lists around the globe are shrinking—and now the software's future looks uncertain.
The Wall Street Journal reports that BBM is causing some strife within the walls of RIM HQ, and with that comes uncertainty as to what form it will take in the future.

Facebook Is Testing a Pay-For-Promotion System Everyone Can Use
If you don't feel people pay enough attention to your Facebook status updates, here's some news you've been waiting for. Facebook is reportedly testing a scheme which will allow any user—not just businesses—to promote their status, in exchange for cold, hard cash.
The new feature, called "Highlight", lets a user pay a few dollars in order to have a single post appear more prominently in the news feeds of friends, reports TechCrunch. Currently, the pay-for scheme is apparently only available for a small pool of users while it undergoes testing. In an official statement, Facebook said:

The Best Headphones for Running
The right music doesn't soothe the savage beast, it makes the beast more savage. When you're going for a long run, that's exactly what you want. The pulse of thumping beats can make you feel superhuman. It certainly beats the sound of your own labored breathing.
But all earbuds are not created equal. Some refuse to stay in your ears. Some have no dynamic range. Some are like small torture devices. So we took five of the best workout earbuds and put them to the test. Meet the new king of your sweaty ear canals.
Sony Active Sport In-Ear Headphones XBA-S65
The Sonys were the lightest of the headphones we tested and arguably the most comfortable. The cord loops back over your ears and then tightens to keep them from falling off. They are sweat-proof and water resistant—you can even rinse them off after each workout. They are designed to block external noise, which is nice for creating a little bubble of sound, but you lose some situational awareness, so there may be some safety issues.Unfortunately, there is a fatal design flaw. While the looping design keeps the buds from falling off your ears altogether, they do nothing to help keep the bud actually in your earholes. While running, the buds would work their way out of the ears every minute or so and would have to be poked back in. Basically it's up to the little rubber nubbin to keep it in, but the cord actually seems to be pulling it out. Very frustrating. They sport Sony's new balanced armature drivers, and they have a pretty decent dynamic range, but they were quiet, pretty muddy, and the bass is thinner than we would like. $80

The Best Inexpensive Point-and-Shoot Camera with Wi-Fi
Smartphone cameras have gotten so good—and sharing photos from them has gotten so easy—that in most situations, a simple point-and-shoot camera seems like an unnecessary inconvenience.
But point-and-shoot manufacturers, eager to keep their products relevant, have begun equipping the cameras with built-in Wi-Fi transmitters. These combine a legitimate camera's lens and sensor with a phone-like ability to quickly share photos without a cumbersome cord. Even with the new feature, a solid camera can come in under $300. Wi-Fi point-and-shoots to the rescue! Right?
For this test, we chose the Canon Elph 320 HS ($280) and the Samsung WB150f($230). We wanted to know how these cameras stacked up against each other, and also how the features measured up in common tasks—like posting a photo to Facebook—when compared against most folks' default tool for the job, the iPhone 4.

Spotify
In their quest to become the dominant streaming music service, Spotify has introduced yet another new feature: the Spotify Play Button. If you interact with Spotify through Facebook, you already have an idea of what this is like. You see a box for a song on Spotify, you hit play, and it automatically loads up the song on your desktop Spotify app.
The player is designed to work with virtually any internet platform that supports the common web standards, and allows enough freedom for anyone to tinker and customize the embedded widget to their liking. You can create play buttons for songs, albums or playlists, with or without album art. And if you want to drop a widget you see on your own site or blog, you can easily copy the embed code to do so. In addition, Spotify is working with Tumblr, Spin and The Fader to have the buttons fully integrated into the respective sites.

My spring break 4/10
My Spring Break
For Spring break I went to the Bronx Zoo, Times Square, and bowling. I went with my family and I enjoyed it. I mostly slept in and it was relaxing. I also watched a movie called Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It was a cool action movie. In Times Square I went to M&M world with Jeremy Morel. We had a lot of fun.

TWITTER
What It's Like To Be Twitter Famous For A Day
Do you know about Fame? No, not the movie or the TV show, but the Twitter lottery? Fame is a Twitter app that works a little bit like a Ponzi scheme, but more sustainable. We talked to yesterday's winner.
It goes like this. You sign up to play Fame and give it access to your Twitter through OAuth. That gives the app the ability to follow and unfollow other people. Every day, it picks a new winner at random from everyone who has signed up. The app then has everyone playing auto-follow that person for 24 hours, then it auto-unfollows, and moved on to the next one. Its goal is to get to 21 million people all of whom would follow a single person for a day. But right now, it only has about 4,400.

Camera+ is already our pick for the best camera app on the iPhone and these updates certainly help. The photo sharing now allows you to share multiple pictures to multiple accounts at once, which is a great time saver if you tend to upload to Facebook and Flickr at the same time. Also added is the ability to lock your focus and exposure independently of each other so you can customize your picture more than you could before. A few other changes include options for setting different workflow types, a new interface, improved performance on the iPhone 4S, and a few bug fixes. The update is free for current users, but Camera+ is also on sale for 99¢ for those who haven't picked it up yet.
